On line stores do not have that expense and many of the expenses the local stores have and that we end up paying. The selection is greater, usually, on line than in stores,  because the on line dealer does not have to pay for the inventory and can offer a greater selection. Many of the items seen in furniture stores are available, on line,  at a fraction of the price. The brick and mortar stores will tell you buy local.  What if you need service ? All the home furnishings, sold on line, have the exact same manufacturers guarantee that the local stores have and you are entitled to it, providing that you purchase it from a reputable on line company that will extend it to you.

Beware of on line dealers offering 50-75% off retail. The word retail is the key word here. Their retail is usually SUPER inflated, sometimes 500% higher than the lowest prices on the net. By the time they give you that discount,  off  their ridiculous retail, they are still higher than most dealers. Really, isn't that common sense. DON"T FALL FOR IT!
